Benefits of Membership

Since 1983, SCESA has represented the most respected providers of fire, burglar and security related systems. SCESA is committed to the success of all its members and to the increase of professionalism in the security field. Through networking, training, seminars and up-to-date industry standards, we seek to raise the bar for the entire group.

Your SCESA Board continues to work diligently on the legislative front as we push for laws and regulations that benefit our members, the alarm industry and the consumer of our state. Our efforts include defending against burdensome regulation and legislation that could be detrimental to us and the industry.

SCESA Member Benefits:
  • Board of Directors - The SCESA Board of Directors works for you and is made up of 13 members of the association, which represent all aspects of the electronic systems industry. They meet several times a year, at their own expense, to discuss legislative and local issues that affect alarm dealers across the State of South Carolina. Board members are nominated and elected at the annual meeting in the fall of each year. All members are encouraged to step up and serve on our board of directors.
  • NTS Level I Course Options and Pricing - The SCESA offers an in-person 22 hour NTS Level I course throughout the state several times a year. This course is required for burglar and fire alarm licensing in South Carolina. We offer the course at discounted rate ($350) for members.

  • Insurance Benefits - The SCESA also provides insurance benefits to the members through Southeastern Brokerage Group. The Southeastern Brokerage Group specializes in the education, sales and service of Long Term Care Insurance, Disability Insurance, Life Insurance and Ancillary products.

  • Networking and Social Events - The SCESA hosts an annual golf tournament. The event is designed for business networking and to show customer appreciation. This is a great opportunity to connect with other professionals in the industry and is open to all skill levels.

  • Legislative Monitoring - The SCESA also provides you the opportunity to make a difference with the current legislation influencing the industry here in South Carolina. The SCESA has a lobby team that monitors bills which would influence the industry. Members of the SCESA may view the current legislative updates online weekly during the legislative session. The management group, Capitol Consultants, also sends out procurement opportunities issued by the State of South Carolina.

  • Association E-Newsletter - The SCESA sends out a quarterly e-newsletter to its members. The newsletter consists of industry updates, upcoming events, scholarship opportunities, and articles to keep you well informed.
